The Story Continues

For many life is just as connected to the statement "the story continues". Everyday saga, everyday woes. I often wondered how does one continue when they are filled with the same issues for example; if your energy is low vibrating how can you elevate when you are still are in the same negative space?

I thought about this a lot especially with this new project I am beginning. The process of weeding through the individuals who will become part of the book, I need to listen to the many stories and each one of them all share the same common ground, a love one is either missing of no longer among us. This project will highlight our missing, girls who are not at home, love ones who are looking for them and there is no trace of them anywhere. The process of listening to the background of how they became to be missing are the stories I want to share. I feel that to grasp a good understanding I need to immerse myself into their world see things from their point of view.

As I said before this is going to be my greatest community gift. Many of our girls are missing but there is little to no attention even the true crime podcast are about making money and gain followers instead of highlighting why our girls' are missing and how we can prevent this new ill from continuing to happen.

The story continues. It is actually never ending. It does not matter how many podcast and documentaries are present, I have to ask the real questions - the hard questions. Why are there no books that address this specific community ill, why are so many of us so quick to lay blame on these girls, don't they deserve the right to continue to live in peace, happiness, and harmony? Why is this so specific to the black community and ultimately, why have they been taken, is there a type of girl they are looking for, and is this just so widespread that no one cares because they are black girls.

All of these things are in my head, but it does not stop my drive and commitment to my community to tell our story, continue our story told for us by us. I just want to take you on the ride. I'm not willing to give the actual stories away before the book but I do want you to share in this journey of self-discovery. One that has made me think about my own life, how I could have been one of those missing girls and what was different for me. Think about it, if this keeps you wanting more then I urge you to stay on this journey with me as we continue the story.

I invite you to Aspire to Inspire.
